BOTOX DYSPORT XEOMIN

BOTOX® / DYSPORT® / XEOMIN®

Whether you’re known for smiling, laughing, grinning, or crying, it’s quite likely that gravity and overactive muscles in your face are causing wrinkles, creases and folds in your skin. Fortunately, smiling less will not be necessary, as wrinkle relaxers like Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin temporarily relax the muscles you use to frown, squint, raise your eyebrows and smile. These products are called neurotoxins and are injected into muscles, causing wrinkles and creases to fade over time.

Neuromodulators and neurotoxins are botulinum type A injections and relax your skin by restricting facial muscles from contracting. Once your facial muscles are relaxed, wrinkles are reduced, oil production decreases and facial contouring works to give you a younger appearance. Using neuromodulators like Botox, Dysport and Xeomin gives you the ability to have natural facial movements and expressions, plus you have a relaxed and smoother face after treatment.

An Injectable made for maintaining a youthful appearance, these products are an effective treatment to relax dynamic muscle movement in certain areas of the face that create unwanted lines and wrinkles.

Botox Injections

Botox uses botulinum toxin to block nerves that allow a muscle to function. Botox relaxes muscles and leaves you with smoother skin with fewer lines and wrinkles. Botox is FDA-approved and safe when used by a licensed injector.

The results of Botox injections are typically seen in 3-14 days, can last 3-4 months and can last even longer with follow up maintenance treatments.

What is Botox?

Botulinum toxin, or “Botox” injections have been available as a beauty product for two decades, as scientists have cracked the code to turn this substance into a beauty product. The active ingredient onabotulinumtoxinA prevents the release of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine, and causes paralysis in muscles it comes into contact with. This process evens out lines and wrinkles over time, leaving people with a younger looking face.

How long does Botox last?

Botox injection treatments generally take about 15-30 minutes, and the treatment is completely painless. Botox injections do have a near-immediate effect, as you will see results in a day or two. However, the full effects of Botox injections do take some time, as it could take up to two weeks. Fine line and wrinkle reduction will often last up to four months, and it is recommended you get maintenance injections every few months to keep up your youthful appearance.

Botox for Forehead and Crow’s Feet

Botox injections have been particularly noted for their ability to reduce wrinkles in the upper third of the face.

Botox injections have many applications, but Solana licensed injectors typically use them to treat patients with lines and wrinkles in their face, such as in their forehead. Injection levels are carefully monitored as applications between your eyebrows (for “11s” lines) and your forehead treat horizontal and vertical lines.

Crow’s feet are unique in that they occur in an area of the skin that has less collagen, and if you have them, it’s likely because you’re usually beaming with a smile. Crow’s feet are synonymous with people who have smiled a lot in their life. Direct injections of Botox to the affected area will cause those lines to flatten, renewing your smile with a youthful appearance.

However, botox may not be the preferred treatment for a wider area such as your forehead, as Dysport injections have been known to spread to other areas of muscles better than Botox.

Dysport vs Botox

Dysport and Botox are often brought up in the same sentence, as Botox came first, but Dysport uses the same botulinum toxin.

Dysport is a fast-acting prescription injection proven to smoothe moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (11 lines). Dysport does not change the look or movement of your face, but only relaxes the muscles to smooth creases and wrinkles. Botox and Dysport work in much the same way but vary in the amount of time it takes to work, and the dosage needed.

Dysport often has more immediate effects in some patients than Botox, and it may last up to six months. Dysport is more diluted than Botox and spreads to a wider area once injected. For this reason, if you are treating a larger area like the forehead, Dysport may work well for you.

Xeomin Injections

Xeomin is made from incobotulinumtoxin A and is approved by the FDA for treating moderate to severe frown lines between the eyebrows (11 lines). Xeomin contains only one ingredient: incobotulinumtoxin A, which is a part of the bacterium Clostridium botulinum family. Xeomin is a pure form injectable, and the human body is less likely to reject Xeomin, lowering the risk of side effects. Some aestheticians prefer Xeomin for that very reason.

Results of Xeomin injections are typically seen within one week and can last anywhere from 3-6 months.
